France has a long track record of being at the forefront of architectural innovation and design.

Join Chromat founder Becca McCharen as she traveled to Paris to show the SS16 MOMENTUM Collection at Paris Fashion Week and snapped images of her favorite structures along the way.

CENTRE POMPIDOU

Visiting one of my favorite buildings in the world: the Pompidou.
The architects extruded all the functions of the building- mechanical units, plumbing, circulation staircases- and displayed them on the facade. It is the foundation for our architectural body cages, which expose the interior of the garment- the zippers, underwire, boning- to create an external superstructure.

PARISIAN NIGHTS

Chromat hosted a bangin party at Silencio with Good People's Katie Longmyer (wearing her Chromat Pentagram Harness), Kerin Rose from A-Morir, Jules Kim and Jen from Don't Shoot the Messenger. The club was designed by David Lynch and was very dark and moody.

Mysterious & Moody Parisian Nights

INSTITUE DU MONDE ARABE

The geometric facade of the ‪Institut du Monde Arabe‬- designed by architect Jean Nouvel- is a moving screen comprised of 240 photo-sensitive, motor-controlled apertures that automatically open and close to control the amount of heat and light entering the building (similar to the ‪Chromat‬ ‪‎x Intel Aeros Bra‬!). The filtered light created on the interior of the building makes for incredible + functional architecture.

The Louvre Pyramid is a gorgeous glass and metal pyramid designed by Chinese architect I.M. Pei.

CHROMAT SHOWROOM

Chromat brought our SS16 Momentum Collection to the Passage de Metz for Paris Fashion Week. We had the pleasure of showing our new collection to international press and buyers with showroom International Playground. The showroom was located in the beautiful cobblestoned section of the Marais district.

AMERICANS IN PARIS: CFDA/ VOGUE SHOWROOM

It was super fun meeting all the designers from last year's CFDA/ Vogue Fashion Fund at the Americans in Paris showroom. Here's me chillin with Natalie from Grey Ant & Eva from Eva Fehren!

I loved trying on Eva Fehren's X Rings (a perfect combo with the Chromat Lunette Bra) and of course had to talk a special selfie with Eddie Parker's clutch! Something about it just spoke to me...

Can't wait to be back next season! I miss the baguettes already!
