Chromat is future-forward bodywear.
We are committed to empowering #ChromatBABES of all shapes and sizes through perfectly fit garments for every body. We hope that everytime you wear Chromat, it reinforces the message that beauty is expansive and that every body is worthy of love, acceptance and empowering swimwear.
Chromat began in 2010, drawing from founder Becca McCharen-Tran’s background in architecture.
Each Chromat collection explores the intersection of architecture, fashion and technology, producing garments that augment and enhance the body’s performance through innovative design and cutting-edge technical fabrics. Chromat is designed in New York City and Miami by a diverse team of creative collaborators ranging from artists to scientists to choreographers.
The future is inclusive, empowering and sustainable.
Chromat is produced in safe, ethical, fair-wage factories in New York City and Sofia, Bulgaria. We are committed to designing innovative swim and bodywear while ensuring a healthier planet. Our swimwear is made with sustainable, regenerated nylon spun from fishing nets and post-consumer plastic bottles that have been recovered from the world’s oceans. Our nylon mill has worked with an international diving team to remove over 160 tons of fishing nets from the world’s oceans and turned them into yarn together with other nylon waste. The nylon yarn is produced within a closed loop, which means it can be recycled infinitely without loss of quality.
