For Autumn/Winter 2017, we took inspiration from life vests and floatation devices designed for extended survival in rough, open water. We collaborated with innovative outdoors company Klymit to design inflatable garments that aid with internal buoyancy and help the wearer stay afloat and protected.

There is a feeling of paranoia, the end of truth and the dawning of a new era of persecution of 'the other' in the current political climate. We know that no one is entitled to a happy ending, and this has further strengthened our drive to fight for the inclusive and empowering world we want to see.
"In the Chromat universe, everyone is invited to the party, and pieces with fashion-forward ingenuity and body-positivity go hand-in-hand. It’s a fashion message that others would be wise to get behind."
- Vogue Runway
"The collection was a profoundly positive approach to a very turbulent time."
- i-D
"Skilled as she is already at designing punchy, wide-ranging swimwear for women of all sizes, she had not tackled outerwear until now; rest assured, the larger-than-life inflatable jackets were well worth the wait as she managed to marry outwear and swimwear in a positively uplifting collection."
- WWD
"Chromat consistently has some of the best models of New York Fashion Week. The innovative brand, designed by Becca McCharen-Tran, always features models with a wide range of backgrounds, body types, and gender identities."
- New York Magazine's The Cut
"We’re left feeling pretty damn good about Chromat's position at the helm of swimwear."
