Chromat at The Met!
From the beach to the museum, Chromat is in the Met!!
The Sigourney Suit is featured in the new exhibit “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion” at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute 🤯🤩
Thank you to curator Andrew Bolton and the Costume Institute team for considering Chromat as the embodiment of “confidence”. Since the beginning, our goal has been to empower #ChromatBABES of all shapes and sizes through perfectly fitting bodywear. So grateful to see our mission of instilling confidence in your own body reflected back in this context.
The exhibit focuses on the messages in American fashion today- featuring lots of contemporary designers like No Sesso, Gypsy Sport, Collina Strada, Heron Preston, Pyer Moss, Christopher John Rogers, Telfar, Vaquera, Savage x Fenty and Bstroy 👥
Biggest shoutout to Chromat designer Alyse Schriefer, who designed the original Sigourney Suit back in 2016 for the AW16 Lumina collection, and Bandelettes who made the thigh bands styled with it.
The Met specifically requested a size 14 suit for their plus size mannequin… what do you think?
Thanks to Rachel Syme at the New Yorker for this funny anecdote from the opening! Read the show review here.
The exhibit is on display until Sept 5, 2022, with a second part of the exhibit opening in May 2022. Go check it out!
