WE'VE GOT A BIG ANNOUNCEMENT.
You Spoke, We Listened!
Chromat is enacting an exciting change at our company– we are switching from wholesale to direct to consumer!
Starting with our Resort 20 collection (debuting this Saturday at NYFW), all new Chromat collections will be exclusively available at chromat.co and select Chromat pop ups.
The reason we felt this was the right move for us started with a giant survey of #ChromatBABES like you. We found that you loved Chromat's mission of inclusivity and our innovative designs, but our price point was out of reach for a large portion of our community.
EXCLUSIVITY IS NOT WHAT WE'RE ABOUT
So we have been brainstorming on ways to make our garments more accessible to be enjoyed by all.
Chromat garments are priced the way they are for a few reasons:
- Chromat is produced in fair-wage factories in the European Union and USA.
- Chromat is made with high-quality, sustainable materials that are built to last.
- And for the past 10 years, we have been a wholesale-based company, which includes a wholesale to retail markup. This means if it costs $75 to cut and sew a swimsuit at our factory, we sell it to a wholesale partner (like Barneys or Nordstrom) for $150, and they mark it up and sell it for $300.
We didn't want to compromise our ethical production or quality materials, so we decided cutting out the wholesale markup was the best way to go.
Moving forward, we will be reducing our retail price point so most swim suits and sets are available for under $200.
