Go Grande or Go Home
As you know, here at Chromat we're fans of strong, powerful women. Our studio is filled with them, and so are our playlists. We jam to Ariana Grande's tunes in the studio daily, so you can only imagine our excitement when Ari's stylist Rio Warner approached us to design Chromat pieces for her new Honeymoon Tour!
Soon after our first shipment of 12 pairs of Android Arms, Rio commissioned Chromat to design custom cages for both Ariana and her dancers. Below is an exclusive look at our design sketch for Ariana's custom Lunar Garter cage.
When the tour came to Madison Square Garden, Chromat's Studio Manager Ben and I jumped at the chance to see our grrrl Ariana perform in her Chromat. Here's our play-by-play of the amazing night.

The Concert
Among the candy colored sea of pre-teens and throng of anxious Moms sat the two of us-- clad in Cat Ear headbands lovingly made by our Production Coordinator, Kathryn. Ben, being his usual charming, Southern self, befriended all the moms within a ten foot radius. I marveled at the scope of Madison Square Garden and thought deeply about how Ariana Grande would take the cake as my first "big deal" pop concert.
Chromat dreams really do come true!
The show opened with a bang, 'Bang Bang' to be exact, and the surreal pop fantasy began. The two hour show included flying chandeliers, floating clouds, fireworks and more cat ears than a Josie and The Pussycats concert.
Then came the moment Ben and I were waiting for: Ariana and her dancers popped out from the stage to perform 'Break Free' in their Chromat Cages.
Ben: Yes OMG she's breaking FREE from those men. The Chromat Lunar Garter Cage looks so incredible!
Coco: Its the first time we've seen her wear it live! Shoutout to Kathryn for doing such a great job on it!
Ben: Yes I love the little group jump. This is where you feel the production value and all of the elements of the show coming together to create this huge experience bigger than just someone performing a song on a stage.
Coco: Pump up the jam Ari! Still floored by how nimble she is in like 6 inch platform Louboutins. V Impressed. She has so much power, I'm so proud.
Ben: This is Ari taking CHARGE. This is her breaking free from Nickelodeon.
Coco: I love all the lil drops she does throughout the show. I agree with you Ben, this is def her breaking free.
Ben: That 360 turn is everything for me. Grrrl Power moment for real.
Coco: It's like 'Let us demonstrate how incredible we are at every angle."
Ben + Coco: This is the MIB: Most important Boop. Ariana Grande is basically queen of cute booty dips.
Ben: This is the part of the song where everyone in the room is singing "Oh Baby" at the same time which goes to show the power of Ariana Grande and her ability to unify thousands of people under one train of thought, which is "Oh Baby!"
Coco: Everything Ben just said.

Final Thoughts
Ben: I was jumping up and down the entire time and yelling like crazy! Ariana put on such a great show! My favorite moment of the show: everyone on stage was wearing Chromat as they closed out the concert. For me, it was the ultimate "Pop Stars Wearing Garments We Designed" moment to date.
Coco: Everyone wearing Chromat onstage was definitely my all time favorite part, but remember when Ariana floated in on an emoji cloud and then she flew in on a giant chandelier? That was very Sia of her and I appreciate that very much. The entire show was just top-notch incredible. Rio did an amazing job styling, all of the looks stood up to the the scale of the show. We're so honored to have been included!
